Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture
I am a 5th generation farmer, entrepreneur, political leader and married mother of four running to serve as the next commissioner of Agriculture. If I am elected, I will be the first African-American and woman elected to this position in Georgia’s history. My political journey began 4 years ago, when a local county commissioner posed outrageous restrictions on the use of my farmland. And rather than do what was right, he encouraged me to give up on my dreams and sell my property to a corporate entity. I believe in fighting for what is right and that means fighting for the farmers, farmworkers and people of Georgia and I am committed to make sure that this department works efficiently for everyone.
